Kosciuszko Park is Katowice's classic city park, a broad green space south of the centre with walking paths, mature trees, and open lawns. Its most distinctive sight is the wooden Church of St Michael the Archangel, moved here from the Beskid village of Syrynia.
The park is a good place to see Katowice outside its industrial and modernist stereotypes. It is local in the best sense: easy to reach, relaxed, and useful when you want a quiet hour between museums or train connections.
