Time Out Market Lisboa

The Time Out Market in the renovated 1892 Mercado da Ribeira is Lisbon's most successful recent food project: a large hall with stalls operated by some of the city's best chefs and restaurants, ranging from bacalhau to sushi to pastéis de nata. The quality is reliably good; the prices are higher than a neighbourhood tasca but lower than a restaurant.

It is extremely busy on weekend afternoons and evenings, with long queues at the popular stalls. Come early evening on a weekday for the best experience — the crowds are manageable, the food is fresh, and the bar area at the back is lively without being chaotic. At Avenida 24 de Julho, in Cais do Sodré; open daily until midnight.
