The clifftop promenade — Avenida Tomás Cabreira — is the spine of Praia da Rocha. A wide pedestrian boulevard runs the length of the cliffs, lined with hotels, restaurants, bars, and the usual seaside infrastructure of arcades and souvenir shops. The view down to the beach is a constant feature.
The eastern end runs to the Fort of Santa Catarina and the lift down to the marina at Portimão; the western end fades into residential streets and the path to Praia do Vau. It is a bustling, sometimes loud, evening walk in summer; quieter and pleasanter outside the peak months.
