Ria de Alvor is the estuary and nature reserve between Lagos and Portimao, a mix of dunes, marshes, salt pans, scrub, and farmland. It is one of the better quiet breaks from the Algarve beach strip, with easy walking and good birdwatching when the tides and seasons line up.
