Casa Românească

Traditional Romanian cooking near the cathedral

A reliable Romanian restaurant a few minutes from the cathedral on Domnească, Casa Românească does the classics: ciorbă de burtă (tripe soup), sarmale (cabbage rolls), mici (grilled minced meat sausages), and mămăligă. Portions are large, the wine list covers most of the Moldavian and Wallachian regions, and the décor leans on heavy wooden tables and embroidered cloths.

Best for a long lunch rather than a quick bite. The kitchen also does game in season — wild boar and venison from the forests to the north of the city.
