Sibiu has a small international airport (SBZ) with direct flights to several European cities, including London, Munich, Vienna, and Bucharest. For more connections, Cluj-Napoca airport is about 2.5 hours away by road.
By train, Sibiu is connected to Brasov (around 3 hours, with a change at Copsa Mica), Cluj-Napoca (about 3.5 hours), and Bucharest (around 5 hours). The train journey through the Carpathian foothills is scenic. By bus, direct coaches run from Bucharest (4–5 hours), Brasov, and Cluj-Napoca. The bus station (Autogara Sibiu) is adjacent to the train station on the southeastern edge of the old city.
