Cafe Lloyd

Cafe Lloyd occupies the southern end of the arcade in the Lloyd Palace on Victory Square. It is one of the city's continuous social institutions — opened in 1912 with the Lloyd Bank and operating in essentially the same form ever since. Local writers, journalists and academics have used the cafe as an informal meeting room for over a century.

The interior preserves much of its original Eclectic-style decoration — mirrored walls, tiled floor, marble-topped tables — and the menu is a mix of formal coffees, pastries, light meals, and an evening cocktail list. The arcade terrace looks out over Victory Square and is the city's most-used cafe terrace. Open from breakfast through late evening.
