Khokhlovka Museum is an open-air architecture and ethnography museum north of Perm, spread over a high, wooded site above the Kama Reservoir. Historic wooden churches, towers, houses, barns, and industrial buildings were moved here from across Perm Krai, creating a walk-through introduction to the region's rural past.
It is worth the trip from Perm if you have the time, especially in good weather. The buildings are the point, but the landscape matters too: water, forest, and long views give the museum a sense of place that indoor collections rarely manage.
