St. John the Baptist Church is one of the many small churches that make Suzdal feel less like a town with monuments than a whole landscape of domes, walls, and meadows. It is modest compared with the Kremlin or the Museum of Wooden Architecture, but it contributes to the rhythm of whitewashed churches along the Kamenka.
Do not cross Suzdal just for this one building. See it while walking between the larger sights, when the accumulation of small churches starts to become the point of the place.
