Vladivostok's food is shaped by its geography: fresh Pacific seafood is the undisputed star, and the influence of Korea and Japan is everywhere. Korean restaurants are common and generally excellent — Vladivostok's sizeable Korean community means the food is authentic rather than adapted. Crab, sea urchin, scallops, and king crab from the Sea of Japan and the north Pacific are expensive compared to Russian standards but cheap compared to the same seafood anywhere else.
