Vladivostok rewards walkers. The city tumbles across a hilly peninsula, and most of the worthwhile sights are within a few kilometres of the waterfront. The central neighbourhood around Svetlanskaya Street — the main commercial boulevard — is dense with 19th-century merchant buildings, Soviet-era architecture, and glimpses of the bay. Allow at least two days to properly explore.
