Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, about 12 km west of the city centre, is served by Air Serbia, Wizz Air, Ryanair, and most major European carriers. The airport bus (A1) runs directly to the centre; taxis are available but agree a price in advance or use an app. There is no rail link to the airport.
By rail, Belgrade is connected to Budapest, Sarajevo, Skopje, and Sofia, though journey times can be long and trains are slower than in western Europe. The overnight sleeper from Budapest takes about seven hours and is comfortable enough. By bus, the international coach network is extensive and often faster than rail — Flixbus and many regional operators serve destinations across the Balkans, Central Europe, and Western Europe. The international bus station is on the Sava riverfront, adjacent to the main train station.
