Belgrade's main sights are concentrated around the Kalemegdan fortress and the pedestrian spine of Knez Mihailova. The fortress park is the obvious starting point, with its layered fortifications and river views. Republic Square is the cultural heart of the city, flanked by the National Theatre and National Museum. Further south, the Temple of Saint Sava is an unmissable landmark of sheer architectural scale.
