Strahinjića Bana

Strahinjića Bana — known to Belgraders simply as "Silicon Valley" for its density of bars and cafes — is the main going-out street of the Dorćol neighbourhood, a short walk from Republic Square. The street runs for a few hundred metres and is lined on both sides with bar terraces, cafe fronts, and occasional restaurant tables that spill onto the pavement from spring through autumn. The crowd skews young and the atmosphere is lively from late afternoon onward.

The bar scene here is more international and contemporary than Skadarlija — electronic music, craft beer, cocktails — but still distinctly Belgrade in its late hours and relaxed approach to closing time. Several of the bars are open until dawn on weekends. Come after ten in the evening for the full effect, or for coffee and people-watching at any time during the day.
