Eating Out

Levoča is a small town and restaurants are concentrated around the main square. Slovak food here leans heavily on Spiš classics: bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep's cheese and bacon), zemiakové placky (potato pancakes), kapustnica (sauerkraut soup), and pork in every form.

U 3 Apoštolov on Námestie Majstra Pavla is the most reliable sit-down option — a vaulted dining room in a 16th-century burgher's house, good Slovak staples and a sensible wine list. Reštaurácia Slovenka, also on the square, is more casual and a touch cheaper. For coffee and cake, Cukráreň U Janusa is the long-running local choice. None of these is going to change your life, but they're honest and unfussy.
