AquaCity Poprad is a large thermal water park and wellness complex on the southern edge of the city, fed by geothermal springs from beneath the Tatra foothills. It operates year-round and is remarkably popular both with Slovak families and with visitors who have come for the mountains but want a rest day. The outdoor pools, warm even in winter, are made more striking by the backdrop of the Tatra peaks — a combination of geothermal warmth and mountain air that is hard to replicate anywhere else.
Beyond the pools, the complex has water slides, a large indoor aquapark for children, saunas, and a wellness centre with a full range of treatments. On a rainy day in the Tatras it is the obvious place to head. It is also genuinely enjoyable in winter — soaking in an outdoor thermal pool with snow on the ground and the Tatras rising above you is an experience worth planning around.
