The Church of St. Egidius is Poprad's central historic church, dating from the late 13th century. Its main interest is inside, where medieval wall paintings include what is often described as the oldest known panorama of the High Tatras.
It is a compact stop, but a worthwhile one if you are passing through Poprad on the way to the mountains. Visit it with the nearby Podtatranske Museum for a better sense of the town beneath the Tatras transport hub.
