Getting There

Bled is 55 km northwest of Ljubljana and easily reached in under an hour.

By bus: hourly direct buses run from Ljubljana central bus station to Bled, taking 1 hour 15 minutes. Tickets cost around €7. Stops at the main bus station in the centre of town, a short walk from the lake.

By train: trains from Ljubljana run to Lesce-Bled station (4 km east of the lake) every hour or two, taking 40–50 minutes. From Lesce-Bled a local bus or taxi covers the last few kilometres. A secondary line on the Bohinj Railway also stops at Bled Jezero station, on the southern shore of the lake itself, with services to Bohinjska Bistrica and onwards to the Soča Valley.

By car: Bled is just off the A2 motorway, about 40 minutes from Ljubljana. Parking is paid in the centre of town and at the main lake-side lots; the further you walk, the cheaper it gets.

By air: Ljubljana Airport is 25 km away — only 30 minutes by taxi or pre-booked shuttle. Several daily airport shuttles run between Bled and the airport in season.
