Getting There

By Air: Granada Airport (GRX) is 15 km from the city centre and has direct flights from London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Brussels, and several other European cities, plus domestic connections through Madrid and Barcelona. A bus service (Alsa) runs from the airport to the city centre in about 45 minutes; taxis are also readily available.

Málaga Airport (AGP), 130 km away, has far more international connections. Buses run directly from Málaga airport to Granada (about 2 hours) and are a practical alternative for visitors flying to Andalucía.

By Train: Granada is connected by high-speed AVE train to Madrid (about 3 hours via Antequera-Santa Ana) and by RENFE services to Sevilla, Córdoba, and Almería. The train station is on Avenida de Andaluces, about 1.5 km southwest of the city centre.

By Bus: Alsa and other operators run frequent services to Sevilla (3 hours), Málaga (2 hours), Madrid (5–6 hours), and other Andalucían cities. The bus station is on the Carretera de Jaén, about 3 km northwest of the centre.

By Car: Granada sits at the junction of the A-44 (from the coast and Jaén) and the A-92 (from Sevilla). Parking in the historic centre is very difficult; the park-and-ride system at the edge of the Albaicín is the most practical option for visitors arriving by car.
