Parque de las Ciencias

The Parque de las Ciencias is Granada's interactive science museum, located in a large purpose-built complex south of the city centre. The permanent collection covers physics, biology, geology, and astronomy in a hands-on format genuinely aimed at adults as well as children — the astronomical observatory on the roof is one of the better in Spain, and the butterfly house is an unexpected delight.

The museum is significantly better than the typical Spanish provincial science museum, partly because Granada's university brings enough research culture to keep the content rigorous. Plan for a full half-day. The museum closes on Mondays.
