San José Church is one of Granada's oldest churches, built on the site of the former Almorabitín mosque. Parts of the earlier Islamic architecture remain visible, especially in the minaret that was adapted as the church bell tower.
It is a compact but rewarding stop for travellers following the layers of Moorish and Christian Granada through the old city.
