Mesón El Simancón

A long-established mesón in the lanes off the Plaza de España, serving Sierra de Grazalema cooking — payoyo cheese plate, gazpacho serrano, slow-cooked lamb, partridge stew in season. Cave-like dining rooms, dark wood, framed photographs of village life.

Lunches more important than dinners; book if you are coming on a weekend. Prices are not the cheapest in town but the cooking is the most reliable.
