Artesanía Textil de Grazalema

A small workshop on the edge of the village that has been weaving traditional Grazalema blankets — heavy, dark, deeply patterned — since 1850, on equipment that is several generations old. The wool is local, from the merino flocks of the sierra; the dyes are mostly natural; the patterns are unchanged.

Open to visitors most weekday afternoons. You can watch the looms working, ask questions, and buy direct from the shop — a real blanket is heavy and expensive, but the smaller scarves and ponchos are easier to take home.
