Open-Air Sculpture Trail

Since 1975, Hecho has hosted an international sculpture symposium each summer, and the accumulated works now form an open-air collection spread across the village square, the lanes, and the surrounding meadows. The pieces range from rough-hewn stone figures to steel constructions, with the best ones leaning into the mountain setting rather than fighting it.

No ticket is needed — the sculptures are simply there, part of the village fabric. A walk through the old quarter will take you past most of them. Pick up a map from the museum or the town hall if you want to find them all.

A story
The symposium was launched in 1975 when the artist Pedro Tramullas invited fellow sculptors to come and work in the village for a summer. The idea was that each artist would leave their work behind as a permanent gift to the village. Half a century later, the collection has grown to dozens of pieces, making Hecho one of the most concentrated open-air sculpture sites in the Spanish Pyrenees.
