When to Go

Summer (June–September) is the main season. July and August bring Spanish hikers in numbers — the Selva de Oza fills up, the village bars stay busy, and guesthouses book out. The weather is warm and mostly dry, though afternoon thunderstorms are common in the mountains.

Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are quieter and often beautiful — wildflowers in the meadows, turning beech forests in autumn, and the light that comes with fewer people.

Winter is quiet. Many businesses close, and the upper valley road may be impassable. The village settles into its own rhythm, which has its own appeal, but facilities are minimal.

The Fiestas de Hecho take place in mid-August and include traditional Aragonese folk events and Pyrenean music, with the village square given over to dancing and celebration for several days.
