The weekly market at S'Arenal runs on Thursdays in the streets behind the beach, selling the usual mix of clothing, leather goods, tourist souvenirs, and seasonal produce. It is a smaller affair than the markets at Palma or Pollença, but worth a look if you happen to be there on a Thursday morning — the fruit and vegetable stalls in particular stock produce that is noticeably fresher and cheaper than the supermarkets.
The market packs up by early afternoon. For a broader range of local produce, the Mercat de l'Olivar in central Palma is the best on the island and easily reached by the number 25 bus.
