Beaches

The beach is the reason most people come to Puerto de Alcudia, and it lives up to expectations. The main stretch runs five miles south from the marina, wide and white with sand so fine it squeaks underfoot. The water shelves gently and stays shallow a long way out, which makes it particularly good for children. In high season it is busy, but the beach is big enough that it never feels truly crowded.

Further south, the beach transitions into Playa de Muro without any visible boundary, and from there toward Ca'n Picafort the crowds thin noticeably. The whole bay is protected by Cap des Pinar to the north and Cap de Ferrutx to the south, which keeps the water calm in most conditions. You will not find dramatic scenery here — this is a working beach, geared toward swimming and sunbathing — but it does its job exceptionally well.
