Getting There

Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is the arrival point for almost everyone. It sits on the south side of the island, about 65 kilometres from Puerto de Alcudia by road. A hire car is by far the most convenient option — the drive takes about 45 minutes on the motorway, joining the Ma-13 from Palma toward Inca and then the Ma-2200 to Alcudia. Car hire is widely available at the airport and rates are reasonable, particularly outside July and August.

There is no direct airport bus to Puerto de Alcudia. The public bus option requires a connection in Palma: take the bus from the airport to the main bus station (Estació Intermodal) and then the 352 or 353 toward Alcudia. The total journey takes around 90 minutes and runs several times daily, though service is reduced outside summer. Taxis and private transfers cover the route in under an hour but cost significantly more.

Alcudia town has a small train station on the Mallorca Tourist Railway (Ferrocarrils de Sóller does not cover this line — it is the TIB train from Palma to Sa Pobla, with a bus connection to Alcudia). For arrivals from Palma without a car, this can be a cheaper option than the bus connection.
