Eating Out

Food and drink cost noticeably less in Las Palmas than in the southern beach resorts. The area around Vegueta has the most atmospheric options — tapas bars and small restaurants tucked into 16th-century buildings. Around the port and Plaza Santa Catalina you will find cheaper, more casual places popular with locals. The Las Canteras promenade has plenty of choices with sea views, though quality varies.
