By air. Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) is one of the busiest airports in Spain, with multiple daily flights from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and mainland Spanish cities. Ryanair, easyJet, Vueling, Iberia, and several other airlines serve it. The airport sits on the eastern coast of the island, around 20 kilometres south of the city centre. Bus line 60 connects the airport to the city (Las Palmas bus station) in roughly 30–40 minutes; taxis take about 20 minutes and cost in the region of €25–30.
By ferry. Fred Olsen and Naviera Armas both operate regular ferry services between Las Palmas and other Canary Islands. Tenerife (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) is around 1.5 hours by fast ferry. Fuerteventura is about 1.5–2 hours. Lanzarote takes around 3.5 hours. The ferry terminal is in the Puerto de la Luz, within walking distance of the city centre and Playa de Las Canteras.
Ferries to mainland Spain exist but are a serious undertaking — the crossing to Cádiz takes around 30 hours and is more of an adventure than a practical transport choice.
