Mirador César Manrique

Palmarejo viewpoint designed by César Manrique, looking down the terraced Valle Gran Rey ravine

Mirador César Manrique, also known as the Palmarejo viewpoint, gives one of the clearest high views into Valle Gran Rey. From the road above the valley you can see the ravine walls, terraced slopes, palms, and scattered white houses stepping down toward the Atlantic.

The viewpoint is also interesting as a Manrique intervention outside Lanzarote: architecture used to frame landscape rather than compete with it. Even if the facilities are limited or closed when you pass, the stop is worthwhile for the view alone, especially in late afternoon light.
