Lanzarote's only airport, Aeropuerto César Manrique-Lanzarote (ACE), is just 6 km west of Puerto del Carmen — a 10-minute taxi ride. There are direct flights from most major UK and European cities throughout the year, with a heavy concentration of charter flights operated by package-tour operators. Most of the resort's hotels arrange transfers; if you have a hire car booking, the airport rental desks are immediately outside the arrivals hall.
Public buses (línea 22 and 23) run from the airport into Puerto del Carmen for around 1.50 euros — slower than a taxi (around 15 euros) but a fraction of the cost. From the rest of the island, Arrecife is 15 minutes east on the LZ-2 dual carriageway; the entire south coast is within 45 minutes' drive.
