Tucked behind the wax museum on Passatge de la Banca, just off the bottom of La Rambla, El Bosque de las Hadas ("The Forest of the Fairies") is one of Barcelona's most theatrical bars. The interior is designed to feel like an enchanted forest, with gnarled tree trunks, hanging vines, fountains, and atmospheric fog effects drifting through the room. Animatronic creatures peer out from the foliage.
The drinks are standard and fairly priced for the area. The real draw is the setting -- it is genuinely atmospheric after dark when the lighting drops low. It can get crowded on weekend evenings, so go early if you want a good seat. The entrance is through the wax museum's foyer, but the bar operates independently.
