A small pebble-and-sand cove tucked into the cliffs about ten kilometres east of Roses, Cala Montjoi is harder to reach than the main beaches — the access road is narrow and twisty — and is the better for it. The water is clear and good for snorkelling along the rocky edges of the bay.
The cove is also home to El Bulli, the legendary restaurant turned archive-museum. Visits to El Bulli 1846 must be booked far in advance.
