La Coruña is well connected by rail and road, though the international air connections are limited. Most travellers from outside Spain route through Madrid or Bilbao.
By air: A Coruña Airport (LCG) is 8 kilometres south of the city, with domestic flights to Madrid, Barcelona, and a handful of other Spanish cities. International connections are sparse — Iberia and Vueling dominate. A taxi into the city takes about 20 minutes; bus line 12 connects the airport to the city centre.
By train: The high-speed AVG line connects A Coruña to Madrid in under four hours (via Santiago de Compostela, about 35 minutes away). RENFE runs frequent regional services along the coast to Ferrol and south to Vigo. The main station is San Cristóbal, south of the city centre.
By bus: ALSA runs long-distance buses to Madrid, Bilbao, and other major cities. Regional buses cover the Galician coast more completely than the trains. The bus station is adjacent to the train station.
