The seafront promenade runs for about 13 kilometres around the entire peninsula, linking the city beaches with the Torre de Hércules and the wilder Atlantic coast to the north. It is one of the longest urban promenades in Europe and the natural backbone of daily life in La Coruña — locals run, cycle, and stroll it at all hours.
The section along the Ensanche seafront is backed by the famous glass-balconied buildings, best seen in the late afternoon light when they catch the western sun. On Atlantic storm days, waves break over the sea wall and the promenade becomes something theatrical.
