Monte Aloia is a wooded hill rising to 629 metres north of Tui, protected as a natural park and popular with local walkers. The forested slopes are threaded with trails ranging from easy circular routes to longer climbs to the summit, where a small chapel and a metal cross mark the highest point.
The park is very accessible from Tui — about a 20-minute drive — and there are marked walking routes from several entry points. The summit views are rewarding and the forest, dominated by eucalyptus and pine with some remnant oak woodland, is pleasant at any time of year. The park also contains the ruins of a late Iron Age castro (hill fort) that predates the Roman arrival in Galicia.
