Eating Out

Tui's food follows the Galician model: excellent seafood, good meat dishes (especially lacón — cured pork shoulder — and cocido galego, the regional stew), and the local Albariño wine. The restaurants in the old town are mainly concentrated on the streets around the cathedral and the main square. Cross over to Valença for lunch and you'll find the same Galician-influenced cuisine on the Portuguese side, at roughly equivalent prices.
