Beaches

Benicàssim's beaches run for about six kilometres along the coast, divided into four named stretches that are all easy to walk between along a paved promenade. They are sandy, gently shelving, and were among the first beaches in Castelló province to be awarded a Blue Flag for water quality.

Playa de Voramar in the north is the smaller, prettier beach, with a nineteenth-century bathing hotel still in operation behind it and old villas of the Belle Époque hidden among the pines. Playa Almadraba is a quieter family beach with shallow water. Playa Heliópolis is the longest and broadest, with the most amenities. Playa de Torre San Vicente in the south is named for the 16th-century watchtower that still stands on the sand, a relic of the days when the coast was raided by Barbary pirates.
