Lysekil is small enough to walk in an afternoon. Start at the harbour and the wooden Lysekil Church on the hill above, walk west along the rocky promontory to Stångehuvud nature reserve, then back along the bathing beaches. The Havets Hus aquarium is worth a stop if you have children, and on a clear day Nordens Ark wildlife park, half an hour by car to the north, is one of the best in Scandinavia.
