Svea Artilleri

Svea Artilleri is a former artillery barracks complex in Östermalm, built in the 1870s when Stockholm's military presence still sat close to the city centre. The regiment later moved out to Rissne, but the brick buildings and parade-ground feel still give this corner a martial character.

It is not a museum, so treat it as an architectural stop on a walk rather than a destination in itself. The buildings are most interesting if you are following Stockholm's military history or exploring the quieter back streets beyond the main Östermalm shopping area.
