The Télécabine de Champéry-Planachaux rises from the village edge to the Planachaux plateau at 2,000 metres, and it is the key to everything above the valley. In winter it is the departure point for the entire Portes du Soleil ski network. In summer it carries hikers and mountain bikers up to the high meadows, saving the two-hour climb on foot and opening up routes toward Les Crosets, the Croix de Culet, and the trails around the Dents du Midi.
The cable car runs in both winter and summer seasons with a gap in the shoulder months. Single tickets and day passes are available for those who don't have a ski pass. The ride takes around eight minutes and the views of the Dents du Midi improve steadily as you gain height.
