Restaurant Hauser is one of the oldest and most reliable establishments in St. Moritz — a straightforward, no-nonsense dining room that has been feeding skiers and summer visitors since the 1930s without acquiring the self-importance that infects many resort restaurants. The menu covers Swiss and Engadin standards: rösti, barley soup, raclette, and lake fish. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable by St. Moritz standards.
The ground-floor café section is open through the day and serves breakfast, coffee, and light meals. The hotel above is modest and well-placed for the funicular. Worth knowing if the palace hotels and their satellite restaurants feel like a different world.
