Getting Around

The old town is compact and best explored on foot. Trams and buses cover the wider city effectively and cheaply — a single ride costs a few hryvnia. Taxis are inexpensive; Uber operates in Lviv and is generally reliable and safer for language reasons than flagging a cab. The airport is about 7 km from the centre and easily reached by taxi or shuttle bus.

Lviv is hilly in places, particularly around High Castle and the old fortifications, but the main tourist area is relatively flat. Cycling infrastructure is limited but improving; bike rental is available near the centre.
