Odesa Archaeological Museum

Odesa Archaeological Museum is one of the oldest museums in Ukraine, with collections that reach from prehistoric cultures of the northern Black Sea to ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and medieval material. Its Egyptian holdings are unusually strong for the region, including funerary objects, sarcophagi, and fragments with hieroglyphic writing.

The museum is also known for its large coin and medal collection. It is a good stop if you want context for Odesa's place between the Black Sea, the steppe, and the ancient Mediterranean world.
