Queen Charlotte Street is a small piece of trivia near Windsor Castle: officially recognised as the shortest named street in Britain, at just 51 feet and 10 inches (15.8 metres) from end to end. It runs between the High Street and the Castle Hill, hemmed in by the Crooked House on one side and the Guildhall on the other.
The street is named after Queen Charlotte, the wife of George III, who lived much of her life at Windsor. There is nothing on it except the side doors of the buildings flanking it, but it is a guaranteed stop for visitors with a camera and an interest in superlatives.
