Chedworth Roman Villa is one of the most substantial Roman villa sites in Britain, tucked into a quiet Cotswold valley east of Cheltenham. The surviving mosaics, bathhouse remains, hypocausts, and foundations give a clear sense of a wealthy Romano-British household.
The National Trust presentation makes the site accessible without flattening it into a theme park. It is outside Cheltenham proper, so it works best by car or as part of a Cotswolds day, but the archaeological interest is strong enough to justify the detour.
