Getting There

Salisbury railway station has direct trains from London Waterloo (about 1 hour 25 minutes) and from Bristol Temple Meads (about 1 hour). South Western Railway operates the London service; Great Western Railway covers Bristol and Bath. The station is a ten-minute walk from the city centre and about fifteen minutes from the cathedral.

By car, Salisbury sits at the junction of the A30 and A36, roughly 145 kilometres south-west of London. The A303 — the main road to Stonehenge and the west — passes just north of the city. Parking can be tight in the centre; the main long-stay car parks are at Churchill Way and Endless Street.

Salisbury bus station adjoins the train station. National Express coaches run from London Victoria (about 2 hours 30 minutes). Local buses to Stonehenge (the Stonehenge Tour bus) depart from the station forecourt.
