Coventry's eating scene reflects the city's diverse population. The Foleshill Road corridor is the place to go for South Asian food — one of the better strips of Pakistani and Indian restaurants outside Birmingham, with low prices. FarGo Village on Far Gosford Street is the liveliest spot for eating, with street food stalls and independent traders operating from converted railway arches and a purpose-built indoor market called The Factory. The city centre has the usual high-street chains but also a growing number of independent places.
For pub food, the Old Windmill on Spon Street is a genuine 15th-century timber-framed building serving straightforward food and real ales.
