Greyfriars

Greyfriars is a National Trust property on Friar Street, one of the best-preserved timber-framed merchant houses in England. Built around 1480, the house was constructed at the site of a Franciscan friary that had stood here since the 13th century. The interiors contain good examples of late medieval joinery, Arts and Crafts furnishings added by the restoring owners in the early 20th century, and a walled garden behind the house that is peaceful on a warm afternoon.

Friar Street itself is worth walking for its collection of timber-framed buildings; Greyfriars anchors what remains of Worcester's medieval street pattern. National Trust members enter free; others pay a modest admission charge.
